Meet Mochi, a courageous and affectionate Munchkin cat who has faced numerous challenges in her young life. This feline was originally bred in China and brought to the United States to live with a family in the Boston area. However, she soon began to suffer from a mysterious illness that caused necrosis in certain parts of her body including her ears, tail, and right hind leg. Sadly, her condition had progressed to a point where her former owners were unable to provide her with the care she needed. Consequently, they surrendered her to a rescue shelter called MSPCA-Angell.
Mochi spent a good two months under the care of doctors at a shelter and they did an amazing job nursing her back to health. Unfortunately, due to her advanced condition, she had to undergo amputation of one of her hind legs, both ears, and her tail. Once Mochi was fully recovered, the shelter put her up for adoption. It was then that Greg McDouglas and his fiancée Natalia came across her listing and were immediately smitten with the adorable pup.
In spite of her unconventional appearance, Greg and Natalia welcomed Mochi into their home with open arms. Mochi is their first pet as a couple, and they adore her despite her physical challenges. Mochi has an incredibly sweet and playful personality, filled with energy and goofiness. She loves playing games like hide-and-seek around the house and is quite vocal with her meows, chirps, and squeaks. Mochi is very affectionate, enjoying belly rubs, head scratches, and even sleeping on Natalia’s head at night. She loves being the center of attention, meeting new people, and is an adventurous and curious cat.
Mochi’s new owners should handle her with caution due to her physical limitations. Vaccines are not an option for her since her initial illness might have been caused by a vaccine reaction. Also, because she only has three legs, her weight needs to be managed carefully.
Despite facing challenges, Mochi is predicted to have a long, healthy, and content life with her new family. Greg and Natalia’s decision to adopt Mochi has proven to be one of the best choices they have made, and she has filled their lives with love. Mochi serves as an inspiration to everyone, reminding us that love can overcome any obstacle, even physical challenges.
In conclusion, Greg emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about rescue shelters. These organizations do remarkable work, such as MSPCA-Angell which took care of Mochi. It is encouraged that people support these organizations and the work they do. Additionally, he hopes that individuals open up their hearts and homes to rescue pets and disabled animals. There are many incredible and unique animals that deserve love and a home, and it is hoped that those considering getting a pet will think about adopting a disabled animal.
