A waiter’s letter fell into the guy’s pocket just as he was ready to pop the question to his girlfriend. What was written on it and why was it being concealed?
Roy was at his best. The 24-year-old software developer, who was well-paid for his creations, was passionate about digital technology and computers.
He was proficient in his field and had complete control over his schedule thanks to his employment. He was therefore truly happy with his situation in life.
Karen was his girlfriend, and they had been together for almost six months. She was stunning, with creamy skin and voluptuous curves, and she gave off the impression that she was just as infatuated with him as he was.
Roy took care of his parents, who shared his roof, as well as himself and his partner. Karen was liked by his parents, and they felt the same way.
Because of their wonderful friendship, the woman was always willing to encourage and assist Roy when he was at work. Since both of his parents suffered from arthritis, Karen would frequently assist them with certain activities.
Roy was thrilled that she took care of his parents in that way, and eventually the enamored man began to think about marrying her—his parents were totally on board.
When he told his mother Lana that he wanted to marry Karen, she said, “Took you long enough.”
Happy that his son had at last met his true match, his father said, “You won’t get any objections here, son.”
Encouraged by what they said, Roy made the decision to carry out his idea. He thought Karen would adore the unusual wedding band he picked up one day.
He told himself, “I’m going to do this,” as he called her phone, attempting to calm his agitated nerves.
When she answered the phone, he said, “Hey love.” “Although it’s unexpected, would you like to go to Alberto’s with me?”
It was their favorite eatery and the exact location where they had their first date. She cried out in the breathy voice he had grown to like, “Of course, I’m famished!”
Roy saw that there was a new waiter working at the restaurant while they were eating supper. When they first arrived, the man appeared to be looking at them, and he did so the whole evening.
The waiter returned later with two glasses of wine for them. A security guard yelled Roy’s name as he set the tray down on the table. “Hello sir, due to improper parking, your car was just evacuated,” he remarked.
Roy dashed outdoors, but his automobile remained in the same spot—it was a joke. The same new waiter passed by and unintentionally put the tray next to Roy’s leg when he went back to his seat.
There was a clatter, but it was lost in the background of soft music and soft talk. The waiter cautiously placed a piece of paper in Roy’s pocket and met his eyes as he bowed to retrieve it.
Though Roy didn’t know what was going on, he was aware that the man was attempting to remain covert, so he went along with it and cautiously opened the letter beneath the table.
The message on it was straightforward: “Don’t drink the wine! There will be police soon!
Roy was confused. What is happening? Trying not to lose his cool, he pondered.
When the cops showed there after five minutes, Karen was taken into custody. Roy wasn’t sure what was going on until the waiter said, “Hurry, go home!”
Roy hastily drove to his house with the police behind him, and when they got there, they saw a man sprinting out of the house with a suitcase. The man turned out to be Karen’s spouse. They were involved in robberies and had been married for four years.
Roy felt relieved that his folks were safe because they had gone to the movies. Later, he went back to the restaurant and spoke with the waiter who had saved him.
The man revealed to Roy that he had been a waiter at a city 150 miles away before moving to this town.
A year prior, Karen deceived a wealthy guy by infiltrating his wine with sleeping drugs, all the while her partner committed home invasion. At the time, she got away with it, but happily, the waiter saw her right away and began to consider how he might assist Roy.
He declared, “I could not let her get away with it again.”
Roy claimed to have saved the man and praised him for his generosity before giving him a sizable payment. In the meantime, Karen’s husband was brought before the court and given a jail sentence for their actions.
Later, Roy went to see her in prison to let her know how much she had wounded him, but she displayed no regret. Rather, the woman only chuckled at him. Roy was unconcerned, though. He was aware that her gamble had failed.
“I hope you understand what it means to be betrayed by a loved one someday,” he remarked, sending her into fits of laughter.
