“This partnership is over… I wouldn’t touch you even if you turned into a model! Megan is made fun of by David, who then deserts her in favor of his assistant. But eventually, fate changes the course, and David must deal with the consequences of his actions.
As Megan set the table with a cocktail, roast chicken, and all of David’s favorite foods, the aroma of simmering spices filled the space. “Perfect!” she thought to herself.
“David, welcome home!” Megan said hello.
“What do you have on?” You seem terrible in it! David snorted.
“Oh, why?” My sweetheart, do you not like it? Today marks our sixth anniversary,” Megan muttered. “Have you forgotten?”
“Obviously not,” he snapped back.
A ray of hope gleamed in Megan’s eyes. She had always wanted to spend Christmas in Paris, so she assumed he had purchased tickets.
He said, “I have something for you,” and took an envelope out of his pocket.
As she walked onward, tears filled her eyes. “I mistook these for the tickets to Paris. How come this is?
Her eyes were stung by the cruel word, DIVORCE. “Assure me it’s a joke.” With tears streaming down her cheeks, Megan muttered.
David’s chuckle reverberated with the menacing rumble. “I have no time to fool around. Because I hate you so much.
“Why?” With a hushed tone, Megan enquired.
“Why?” David gave a smirk. “You’ll see why if you just look in the mirror.”
With a broken voice, she said, “We can work this out.”
Simply pack and get off today. “I’m over you,” he angrily said.
“David, if you could… Together, we may visit a therapist. Perhaps fix this. I cherish you. Megan pursued David in an attempt to stop him from packing.
“Psychologist?” He sneered. “It’s you, not me, who needs help!”
David turned his back and headed down the corridor, carrying his suitcase. “I owe you no justifications. The marriage is ended. “I’m at last free,” he said as he made for the door.
David, please. Don’t abandon me,” Megan sobbed.
“Alright, no time for your nonsense.” David swept by Megan. In addition, he said with a sly twinkle in his eye, “There’s someone waiting for me in the car.”
Megan coughed out, “Who’s it, David? Why are you treating me like this?
“Megan, take a look at yourself,” David teased. “You’ve abandoned yourself. Jessica, my secretary, is consistently attractive and in good shape.
“Were you… betraying me?” With tears flowing down her cheeks, Megan mumbled.
“Cheers!” With gleaming eyes, David said. “Two tickets: one for the life I deserve, and one for myself.” Reaching for his suitcase, he pulled open the door.
“Remember to sign the divorce papers as well!” David departed from Megan in quiet, his words resonating.
Megan said to herself, “This isn’t the end.” She collected her wedding pictures and keepsakes throughout the day, put them in a metal pail, poured gasoline over them, and lit them on fire.
She was startled by a loud knock on the door. It was Veronica, her closest friend. “Meg, what’s wrong with you?” she growled. “I’ve made calls all week long.”
Megan spoke the words with agony, “He’s gone.” “Lefted me for a different woman.”
“David? Okay, Meg, not surprised,” Veronica remarked. “What a jerk! I did caution you, didn’t I?
“You were correct,” Megan answered. “How do I move on, though?”
“Honey, you look terrible,” Veronica remarked, projecting concern. You require assistance. Give up thinking about the adulterer.
Veronica, it’s not that simple. Megan whispered, resting on Veronica’s shoulder, “I loved him.” “Now what do I do?”
Veronica grinned and said, “You pick up the pieces, sweetheart, and find happiness that doesn’t depend on someone else’s approval.”
“How can I carry that out?” Heartbroken, Megan enquired.
With a sly smirk, Veronica stole Megan’s phone, loaded a dating app, and made a profile. “You should be happy, not sad about a guy who broke up with you,” she remarked, returning Megan’s phone.
With a flutter of nervousness, Megan accessed the app that night while resting on the couch.
“Hello, you look stunning!” Megan’s pulse raced as she saw the message. She had just stepped out of the shower, her undereye patches on and her body wrapped in a towel.
Megan threw the phone onto the couch and closed the app in a panic.
A voice said, “Did I scare you off?” as Megan’s face showed up on the screen.
“It’s alright,” she answered. “I simply can’t get used to this.”
“I’m not either,” he chuckled. “But perhaps together we can adjust to it?”
The individual gave his name as Robert. Reach out and grab my hand, Rob urged.
“Megan,” she answered. “My pals call me Meg.”
“Meg, nice to meet you!” As Megan felt herself drifting, Robert went on. “You have a beautiful smile,” he continued.
“I’m new here… By mistake, I pressed a button. The next moment I’m live broadcasting!” Embarrassed, Megan chuckled.
“Maybe I could make it up to you?” His eyes glistened as he asked. “What’s for dinner tonight?”
“Yes,” Megan said, her pulse racing.
Robert grinned more broadly. “I’ll see you at La Café Bean at eight, then.”
Megan took a nice shower and dressed thoughtfully, using little jewelry and cosmetics to enhance her natural beauty.
David entered as she was reaching for the doorknob.
“It’s moving day, sweetie,” he remarked icily. “Are you going somewhere tonight?” enquired.
Megan stumbled, holding her handbag, “Just… out.”
“Have the papers signed yet?” He insisted.
“It’s in the other pocket,” a shaky Megan said.
Robert had left Megan a message, which made her phone beep. David was questioned, “Are you done here?” by her.
“Self-deprecating already?” he asked. You would think that I wouldn’t see this. abrupt transformation?
David launched himself forward. “Set the record straight,” he growled. “They’ll go no matter who you discover. You’re unattractive and dull.
“You’re incorrect,” she muttered. “Even though I’m broken, I’m not ugly.”
David took hold of her jewelry and broke the chain. “It was my wedding present,” a startled Megan remarked.
Think of it as rent. similar to our union. “Paid for, used, and thrown away!” he scoffed and slammed the door.
With tears clouding her eyes, Megan got up, grabbed a cab, and made her way to La Café Bean.
When she arrived, she was alarmed to see the vacant table. “Are you aware of my date? Rob?
The waiter responded, “He just left, miss.”
Robert showed up with a bouquet of lilies just as she was ready to give up.
“I apologize so much for making you feel uncomfortable, Megan.” “I needed to go get these for you,”
Her sneeze spread pollen all over the place. Robert worriedly remarked, “Hey, you could have told me you’re allergic to flowers.”
It’s alright. Such a kind offer was too good to refuse, Megan said with a smile.
Tell me about yourself, please. How do you go about things? Megan queried.
“I’m a physician,” Robert grinned. “And I can confirm that those lilies are the source of your allergy.”
He asked the waiter to “please take them away.”
Robert inquired as to why Megan had laughed. “It’s a lengthy tale,” she remarked. “But I suppose I should have visited a doctor!”
A GIF of flowers buzzed on her phone. Robert stated, “Couldn’t leave you without flowers,” with sparkling eyes.
He said, “Tell me everything about you.” “Your wildest stories, your fears, and your dreams.”
Megan talked about her background, her heartbreak, and how meeting Robert made her question the existence of genuine love.
Following their date, Megan was filled with a bliss she had no idea existed when she looked at Robert’s phone snap.
A few months later, Megan recognized a voice while dining at a restaurant.
“Megan!”
David was standing there, a symbol of her history.
She forced a grin and replied, “Hello, David.”
“Megan.” You look amazing,” he remarked.
“I’m doing fine,” Megan answered. “And you?”
David said, “Jessica and I—we’re splitting up.”
“I apologize,” Megan murmured.
“Avoid becoming. I was due for this. “My greatest mistake in life was leaving you,” David said.
David begged Megan to please. “Give me another opportunity.”
Megan was about to reply when a man’s voice interrupted. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
David’s eyes got bigger. Who are you, he enquired.
“This is Rob, Megan’s fiancé.” stated Robert.
David was deeply affected by the words. Megan revealed, “David, Rob, and I are actually getting married soon.”
“Are you set to go, lovely?” Robert enquired.
Yes, honey, let’s head out. David, see you! With a grin, Megan and Robert walked out.
David was left feeling unhappy and full of remorse as Megan put her hand in Robert’s and turned to go.
