It looks like big brother life is bringing a lot of benefits to Leo, a very smart dachshund !

He recently partnered with Canadian motherhood content creator Lauren’s baby, Nash.

As Nash grows up and explores the flavors of the world, it seems he’s found a companion to share his discoveries with: Leo.

In a hilarious video shared by Lauren on her TikTok profile ( @laushealthylife ), you can see the exact moment a ‘food alliance’ was formed.

In the scene, Leo gives a hopeful look to Nash, who is sitting in the highchair.

For Leo, the baby being in that high chair can only mean one thing: mealtime!

With his pleading eyes, Leo proposes an alliance to the baby, and without hesitation, Nash agrees.

The baby, full of innocence and generosity, takes one of his snacks and passes it to Leo.

The dog, in a leap of joy, accepts the offering and begins to chew, thus solidifying the bond between them forever.

It’s a heart-melting scene! Watch:

The video has garnered over 1.4 million views, leaving people enchanted.

“Look at the baby’s smile when the dog got his snack”

“Those expressions are priceless, it’s like they have a secret agreement!”

Many netizens shared their own similar stories:

“This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! My dog and my baby also have a snack partnership, it’s crazy!”

“Oh my god! My toddler and my dachshund do the same thing and it drives me crazy. My dachshund is fat and should be on a diet!”

“Here at home, it’s the same thing! We barely open the fridge and my dog is already under the baby’s highchair, waiting to share some food!”

“My dog literally dragged the bed to sit next to the highchair”

Forbidden foods for dogs

Although not toxic, salty snacks should be avoided.

As cute as the video is, it’s important to remember that some human foods can be toxic to dogs.

Veterinarian Sandra C. Mitchell listed some of them.

  • 1. Chocolate, Coffee and Caffeine

These foods can cause anything from vomiting to seizures and even death in dogs. Darker chocolate is more dangerous.

  • 2. Xylitol

Found in products like candy and gum, xylitol can cause liver failure in dogs. Pay close attention to product labels and keep them out of your pet’s reach.

  • 3. Macadamia Nuts

Even in small amounts, macadamia nuts can cause weakness, vomiting, and even elevated body temperature in dogs. Avoid them completely.

  • 4. Grapes and Raisins

They can cause fatal kidney failure in dogs, so it’s best for your pet to stay away.

  • 5. Garlic, Onion and Chives

They can cause anemia and other health problems in dogs. Even in small amounts, they should be avoided.

  • 6. Alcohol

It seems obvious, but it needs to be said. It can lead to a range of health problems, including vomiting, diarrhea, and even coma.

  • 7. Yeast dough

Fermentation can cause bloating and even alcohol poisoning in dogs. Avoid leaving raw bread dough within your pet’s reach.

In addition to these toxic foods, there are others that can cause problems, such as milk and dairy products, salt and snacks, raw meat, raw eggs, bones, citrus fruits, and coconut.

Always choose safe foods, such as fruits, vegetables, cooked meats, grains, and dairy products in small quantities.

If your dog eats any of the foods on this list and shows signs of illness, contact your veterinarian immediately.
