The sweet friendship between a Doberman and a cat has moved the internet. This is because dogs and cats often have a fierce rivalry, something that isn’t the case between Lincoln and Lemon.

In the video posted on TikTok, the canine appears lying on the floor while the feline, which is lying on the table, licks its face.

Socialization between dogs and cats

As explained by the Pet Pillow website, socializing dogs and cats requires a lot of patience, as they have opposite natures. However, when they become friends, they become inseparable.

Breed can significantly influence how pets interact. In these cases, the best way to deal with this is with persistence and effort, and, of course, treating the animals with respect, above all.

To this end, Pet Pillow has put together some tips and strategies that can help owners facilitate coexistence between these two species.

The first of these is related to the use of diffusers that release pheromones, as this type of substance makes the animals calmer, consequently facilitating coexistence between the two in the same environment.

However, it is worth remembering that there are specific diffusers for cats and dogs, so the owner needs to use both for the tip to work.

The environment is a very important factor for the coexistence between the two, therefore, at the beginning of the approach, each one must have their space and no attitude should be forced.

Another essential point is that feeding must be done separately, that is, the food bowls must be kept away from each other to prevent territorial disputes.

Taking care of how both animals behave during coexistence, especially at the beginning of the relationship, is essential.

This is because dogs and cats have different natures, which makes them play aggressively at times, thus causing accidents.

The best time to make this contact between them is when they are still puppies, since at this stage they have not yet developed certain habits that make it difficult for them to live together.

Furthermore, when they are puppies, pets are not as attached to their owners, which contributes to the issue of territorial marking and possessiveness.

Finally, it’s crucial to avoid causing jealousy or stress between pets. Owners should give both pets attention and love so they don’t feel left out, leaving them sad and distant.
