Last November, Guadita, a 14-year-old golden retriever, passed away after a two-year battle with cancer. Her loss left her owner, Florencia Abraham, who lives in Argentina, devastated. Only time could heal the emptiness she felt, and only someone very special could heal it.
Argentine tradition holds that when a loved one passes away, their soul doesn’t go away forever; it can return to the world of the living taking on a new form. And for Florencia, Guadita returned in the form of a hummingbird.
According to the news portal Carlos Paz Vivo , Florencia was certain that the little hummingbird was her dog, as the delicate bird arrived at her door the night after her death. The bird came as a sign that Guadita was okay, regardless of where she was.

The excited woman filmed the small (unafraid) animal flying around her home and, what’s more, allowing it to be petted. The video was shared on Florencia’s TikTok profile ( @florabraham ) on March 15.
“I was already crying, not knowing what was going to happen,” says a caption overlaid on the video.
It seemed the hummingbird knew her sadness and was there to comfort her. Unable to hold back her tears, Florencia wept.
“I look extremely ugly in this video, but I don’t care because it’s my best memory,” Florencia wrote. “Thank you Guadita for finding me again.”
The post touched millions of internet users! Reaching over 25 million views, 3 million reactions, and thousands of loving comments.
