This was the case of Aline Fernandes, from Fortaleza, who had to say goodbye to her dog Katlyn.
In December 2024, Aline had to make one of the most difficult decisions of her life.
Katlyn, his faithful companion, suffered from a serious illness. To alleviate her suffering, euthanasia was the last resort.
Despite the sad and delicate moment, the owner decided to immortalize her dog’s presence in a special way, creating a memory that would remain forever in her home and in her heart.
Aline had the idea of painting Katlyn’s paw with gouache paint and marking it on a blank canvas.
This symbolic record was later framed and hung in his home as a way of honoring his four-legged friend.
The memory, filled with love and meaning, would be moving in itself, but it becomes even more special because of the moment in which it was made.
This was literally the last mark Katlyn left before she left.
Moments before taking her to be euthanized, Aline captured not only the dog’s paw print, but also her eternal love for her.
This last interaction between the two was full of affection and farewell, a silent goodbye full of emotion.
Although Katlyn’s mark was left on the wall of the house, it was in her guardian’s heart that she left her deepest and most unforgettable mark.
In a moving video, Aline shared the moment she painted and stamped the paw.
