My girlfriend and I have been together for almost a year and started living together two months ago. I really do love her, and we get along great — but there’s one thing that’s been bothering me more than I expected: how often she has to pee.
I know it sounds ridiculous, and honestly, I feel guilty even writing this, but it’s been frustrating. We can’t go on a road trip longer than two hours without having to stop somewhere. Every shopping trip involves at least one urgent detour to find a bathroom. When we go out to dinner, I’m always waiting for her to use the restroom after we’ve paid. At night, she sometimes gets up while I’m asleep to go again.
She’s healthy, only 20 years old, and says this is just normal for her — but it’s hard not to get annoyed. Whether we’re watching a movie or getting intimate, she’ll suddenly stop and say she needs to pee. I’m starting to wonder if she actually needs to go or if she’s just using it as some kind of weird distraction.
I haven’t brought it up to her because I don’t want to make her feel bad, especially if I’m the one being unreasonable. But I also can’t shake the irritation. Am I really the asshole for feeling this way?
